ASPA Honors Professor Pan Suk Kim with a Plaque of Appreciation for Six Years of Distinguished Service
The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) marked a significant milestone in international collaboration at its 2026 Annual Conference in Hollywood, California. On March 22, 2026, ASPA President John Bartle and Executive Director William Shields formally recognized Professor Pan Suk Kim for his outstanding contributions to the field. Professor Kim—former President and current Advisory Panel Member of the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA)—was presented with a plaque of appreciation in recognition of his distinguished six-year tenure as an ASPA International Director.
Professor Kim’s service began in the spring of 2020 following his election to the ASPA National Council. He served two consecutive three-year terms, concluding in the spring of 2026. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening ties between the North American and Asian public administration communities, advancing global dialogue and fostering meaningful scholarly exchange.
As Professor Kim concludes his term, ASPA looks ahead to a new chapter in its international engagement. Professor Alfred Muluan Wu of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Treasurer of AAPA has been selected as the incoming International Director. This leadership transition is expected to sustain and further deepen the strong partnership between the two organizations, as they continue to promote excellence in public service and governance worldwide.
