Burapha University (http://www.buu.ac.th) originated from Bangsaen Educational College which was the first regional tertiary educational institute, established in 1955. Subsequently, it became a campus of Srinakharinwirot University and was renamed Srinakharinwirot University, Bangsaen Campus in 1974. In 1990, it was again renamed Burapha University and later became autonomous in 2008. Bangsaen (in Chonburi Province) is located 85 km south of Bangkok, just an hour's drive from the Suvarnabhumi Airport (also known as the Bangkok International Airport).
