On behalf of the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA), Professor Pan Suk Kim participated in the 2015 annual meeting (the 14th Session) of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (UNCEPA) under the theme of "Building Trust in Government in Pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals" at the UN Headquarters in New York on April 20-24, 2015.

The AAPA is one of the UNPAN (UN Public Administration Network) Partners and the AAPA President attended the UNCEPA meeting as an “observer” representing the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA). Professor Kim served the UNCEPA for two terms (2006-2009 and 2010-2013). Prof. Kim also attended the UNPAN Partners Meeting on April 21, 2015 and agreed to cooperate with the DPADM for the development of the UN Public Administration Network (UNPAN) and related matters in terms of information sharing, service sharing, and other possible joint activities.

The United Nations has been discussing the development of “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) for a next global agenda. SDGs are a proposed set of targets relating to future international development and they are to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) once they expire at the end of 2015. Currently, there are 17 proposed goals. AAPA supports these 17 goals including poverty and hunger alleviation and others.
