  • AAPA President, Dr. Alex Brillantes, delivered a presentation in the 2020 International Webinar in Indonesia.

    The Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA) collaborate with Asian Group of Public Administration (AGPA), Philippines Society for Public Administration (PSPA) and Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA) to host the international webinar on governance and public administration issues and concerns amidst COVID-19 Pandemic on 7 May 2020.AAPA President, Dr Alex Brillantes, Jr., delivered a presentation entitled Governance and Public Administration Issues and Concerns Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic: The Ongoing Experience of the Philippines in the 2020 International Webinar in Indonesia on 7 May 2020. Professor Eko Prasojo, President of AGPA and Vice President of AAPA, also delivered a presentation entitled Governance Challenges for Managing COVID-19 in Indonesia. And Professor Agus Pramusinto, Director of AAPA, moderated the international webinar as the Chair.

    Professor Pan Suk Kim, former AAPA President, has been elected as the International Director of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) in the 2019 election of the ASPA National Council.   • Dr. Alex Brillantes Jr., AAPA President, at the UN Public Service Forum

    AAPA President, Dr. Alex Brillantes Jr., represented the organization in the United Nations Public Service Forum last 24 June 2019 at Baku, Azerbaijan. Together with Orly Mercado of EROPA, Pham Hoa of NAPA Vietnam, and Mayor Benhur Abalos and Brother Jimmy Isidro of Mandaluyong City Government, Philippines.Dr. Brillantes represented the AAPA in the workshops on Role of PA Institutions in building public sector capacities for SDGs and Best Practices for Public Service Delivery at the Local Level.

  • AAPA President at the 2019 Astana Civil Service Hub Annual Conference

    Dr. Alex Brillantes, Jr., AAPA President, represented the organization at the 2019 Astana Civil Service Hub Annual Conference on Values, Trust and Technology on 12-13 June 2019 at Kazakhstan. The plenary session was graced with the presence of the United Nations Undersecretary General and the Chair of the United Nations International Civil Service Commission who delivered the keynote speech. It was also with the ACSH Chairman Alikhan Baimanov who is also an AAPA Board Member, and Keping Yao, Senior Governance and PA Expert of the UNPOG of UNDESA. AAPA became a part of the Peer to Peer Alliance on Transformation and Innovations in Governance launched during the conference.AAPA extends its congratulations to Dr. Alikhan Baimanov, AAPA Board Member and chair of the ACSH, for the success of this conference.

    Professor Eko Prasojo, AAPA Vice President, delivered a keynote speech entitled The roles and challenges of public administration in managing global mega trends and the new industrial revolution 4.0 in the Joint International Conference of Graduate School of Governance, Sungkyunkwan University and the Faculty of Administrative Science, Universitas Indonesia at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea on September 20 2019.

  • Professor Pan Suk Kim was invited by the Indonesian Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to deliver a speech in the Presidential Lecture 2019.

    Professor Pan Suk Kim was invited by the Indonesian Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MENPAN) to deliver a speech in the Presidential Lecture 2019. Originally, Indonesian President Joko Widodo planned to be there, but he could not do due to other urgent matters. On behalf of him, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla attended and delivered the first speech, followed by Dr. Kim's speech entitled “Towards a World-Class Bureaucracy in a Digital Era” on July 24, 2019. In this event, 6,000 newly recruited government employees and 1,000 senior government officials (including ministers, vice ministers and foreign ambassadors) participated at the Jakarta stadium. After that, Dr. Kim has received a Certificate of Appreciation as an Inspiring Speaker in the Presidential Lecture 2019 from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia on July 24, 2019.   • Professor Pan Suk Kim received two awards at the 2019 ASPA Conference in Washington, DC in March of 2019

    Immediate Past President of AAPA, Professor Pan Suk Kim at Yonsei University in South Korea, received two awards at the annual conference of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) in Washington, DC: Donald C Stone Service to ASPA Award in recognition of sustained commitment, dedicated service and exemplary contribution to the ASPA, American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), March 11, 2019; and Fred W. Riggs Award in recognition of lifetime scholarly achievement in international and comparative administration, ASPA Section on International and Comparative Administration (SICA), March 9, 2019.

    As AAPA Pres, chaired a side event on Public Service Innovation through South-South Network during the Global South South Development Dialogue Expo 2028 at UNHQ, NYC. With Dir. Jorge Chediek, UNOSSC, Ambassador Masud of Bangladesh, Anir Chowdury of a21 Innovate for All in Bangladesh, Dir. Stefan Schweinfest of UNDESA, Dr. Denis Nkala of UNOSSC for Asia and Pacific. Nice to see Indonesian friend Priyanto Rohmatullah of BAPENAS.

    AAPA President, Dr Alex Brillantes, delivered a presentation entitled Asian Forum and the Birth of AAPA in the 2018 EROPA Conference at Bali, Indonesia from 16 to 20 Septemeber 2018. Dr Alex Brillantes (President), Professor Akira Nakamura (Advisor and former president), Professor Eko Prasojo (Vice President) and Professor Agus Pramusinto (Member) of AAPA were in the reviewer panel.

  • Immediate Past President of AAPA: Minister Pan Suk Kim

    Immediate Past President Pan Suk Kim is currently serving for the South Korean government as the Minister of Personnel Management. The Ministry of Personnel Management (www.mpm.go.kr) is the central personnel agency of the South Korean government and it deals with almost all human resource management and human resource development functions in the South Korean central government.

  • Dr. Anthony Cheung Bing-leung: Secretary for Transport & Housing in the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, China.

    Dr. Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, who was the 2nd AAPA President in 2012, is currently a Secretary for Transport and Housing in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. He was the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Education and Chair Professor of Public Administration until June 2012. Prior to 2008, he was a Professor in the Department of Public and Social Administration at the City University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong SAR of China.
