The 2015 AAPA Annual Conference was held at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in Shaanxi Province, China on January 9-10, 2015. The conference theme was “Reform, Innovation, and Sustainable Development: Research and Applications in Asia.” 

Xi'an is the capital of Shaanxi Province, and a sub-provincial city in China. It is one of the oldest cities in China, with more than 3,100 years of history, the city was known as Chang'an before the Ming Dynasty.

Invited speakers delivering congratulatory messages include: Wang Tiejun (Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University), Gao Xiaoping (Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Public Administration Society), Wu Jiang (Vice President of IIAS and Former President of the Chinese Academy of Personnel Science under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security), and Xue Lan (Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China).

Professor Andrew Massey delivered a keynote speech at the 2015 AAPA Annual Conference in Xi’an, China on January 9, 2015. He is currently the Head of the Politics Department in the College of Social Sciences and International Studies at University of Exeter in the UK. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS) and the Public Money and Management (PMM).

Other speakers include: Masahiro Horie (Chair of the IIAS's Program and Research Advisory Committee and Former Vice President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo; Eko Prasojo (Former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Bureaucratic Reform in Indonesia and Professor of Administrative Sciences at University of Indonesia); Supachai Yavaprabhas (Former Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok); and others.

Over 100 participants participated in the AAPA conference from many countries including professors, researchers, practitioners, civic leaders, and graduate students from various Asian nations as well as Africans (Nigeria and South Africa) and Europeans. The 2015 AAPA conference had 10 concurrent sessions with two plenary sessions and over 60 papers were presented.
